Exit Pupil: The diameter, in millimeters, of the beam of light that leaves the eyepiece is the "exit pupil.” Image brightness directly correlates with the exit pupil; the larger the exit pupil, the brighter an image. Having a large exit pupil is especially advantageous under low light conditions and at night.
